What to Bring

The sun in this part of the world can become quite hot through the days and this combined with the waters reflection really requires that you be sunsmart if you want to be back the next day. We suggest that you bring a hat, preferably full brim with chin strap [there is nothing worse than a hat blowing off just as you are on a good bust up]. We also suggest you bring along some Polarized sunglasses,

sun screen, insect repellent, light clothing long and short sleeve shirts, long pants and shorts and some footwear that you don’t care about as they will get wet and dirty i.e.plastic sandles or an old pair of runners.

Getting to the Cape

This is the easy part, any good travel agent will be able to get you here without a drama. Book a flight to Cairns and then on to Bamaga you may have to overnight in Cairns, one way or the other, as the local flight times may not always match a connecting flight back down south.
All major domestic airlines fly into Cairns so you have plenty of choice there, after Cairns, you take a regional flight up to Bamaga. Two airlines run flights from Cairns to Bamaga and they are Aerotropics and Regional Pacific. Contact numbers for them are as follows:
Aerotropics 1300 656 110
Regional Pacific 07 4040 1400
If you need to overnight in Cairns then your travel agent should be able to help you again. I would love to be able to handle this side of your trip myself but to be honest I do not live in an area where it is easy to keep track of all the special deals that are on offer from the airlines.
I do strongly recommend that all clients take travel insurance when booking a trip to the Cape. The number of cameras and watches that I have seen go over the side of the boat over the years is amazing. If you wonder how people can be so careless then you have underestimated just how excited some of our clients get when they get onto a hot bite.
